Mosque Heart of Chechnya named after Akhmad Kadyrov

Mosque Heart of Chechnya named after Akhmad Kadyrov

The mosque was opened on October 17, 2008 during the forum Islam-the religion of peace and creation. Its construction was started on April 25, 2006 with the help of specialists from Turkey.

The mosque is a unique structure. The exterior and interior walls are decorated with the rarest marble-travertine, and the interior of the temple is richly decorated with white marble, which is mined on the island of Marmara Adasi in the Sea of Marmara.

The best Turkish masters painted the mosque. Special synthetic and natural paints were used for the pattern painting, so, according to experts, the mosque will retain its color scheme in the next 50 years. For writing patterns and sacred verses (texts) from the Koran, the masters used gold dusting of the highest grade. The mosque has 36 chandeliers. Their uniqueness is that they resemble the three shrines of Islam in their forms — 27 of them imitate the Kubbatu-as-Sahra mosque in Jerusalem, eight are modeled on the Rovzatu-Nebevi mosque in Medina, and the largest 8-meter chandelier repeats the forms of the Kaaba Shrine in Mecca. The chandeliers are made of Swarovski crystals.

The useful area of the mosque is 5 thousand square meters; the height of the minarets is 62 meters. The total area of the Islamic center is 14 hectares. The temple building has increased seismic stability. The surrounding area has several fountains, recreation areas and alleys.
